On behalf of Sustainable Future Fusion (SFF) at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU/APIIT), I am honored to share the success of our recent Food Supply Rescue initiative in collaboration with The Lost Food Project. Serving as the President of SFF, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of our collective efforts in addressing food waste and fostering sustainable communities.

A Collaborative Effort for Change

At Workshop 7, 21 dedicated student volunteers from diverse backgrounds united with a shared purpose—to reduce food waste and enhance resource management. Their commitment not only contributed to the success of the event but also underscored our collective responsibility to tackle critical sustainability challenges.

Aligning with Global Sustainable Development Goals

Our initiative is firmly rooted in several key Sustainable Development Goals, reflecting our broad commitment to environmental and community well-being:

  • SDG 13 (Climate Action): Mitigating the effects of climate change through the reduction of food waste and a corresponding decrease in carbon emissions.
  • SDG 15 (Life on Land): Promoting the sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems to preserve natural resources.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Strengthening collaborative efforts across sectors to drive systemic and meaningful change.
  • SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): Enhancing urban resilience and sustainability through targeted community initiatives.

Gratitude and Future Endeavors

I extend my sincere appreciation to all the volunteers and partners who played an instrumental role in making Workshop 7 a success. Your dedication and collaborative spirit are essential to paving the way toward a more sustainable future. As we continue to build on these accomplishments, we remain committed to driving impactful change and fostering a culture of sustainability within our communities.

Together, we are not only rescuing food but also nurturing hope and resilience for generations to come.
